Here are a few scenic shots from Hollywood Beach off of Lake Michigan here in Chicago. It's the most prominent gay beach. The south end of the beach is the most concentrated gay area of the beach. Its almost like your at the ocean.

I have been reading A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole now for just over a week and it is one of the most entertaining books I have ever read. This book was published in 1980, 11 years after the author committed suicide. The story revolves around Ignatius J. Reilly, a very peculiar character, and his wild life in New Orleans. If you want an easy read and something to put a smile on your face I highly recommend picking this up.

I am happy the wait is over. One of my favorite plays and movies is Sordid Lives. Now Logo Channel has started the series. The first episode aired this week and they have shown it just every day since the airing. Delta Burke and Beau Bridges are not in the series but Caroline Rhea plays the role of Noleta that was originally played by Delta Burke, actually she is better in this role. The new cast also includes Rue McClanahan, Bonnie Bedilia, Olivia Newton-John, Beth Grant, and not to forget my favorite character, Leslie Jordan as Brother Boy. I actually met Leslie one Saturday Bruch at the Flying Biscuit in Atlanta and he was very friendly. The story is set in West Texas and has a wild campy flavor to it. Growing up in Mississippi and living in Texas for almost 6 years you see people you know in the characters. I would highly recommend checking it out you will be amused. Caught in all of the political arguements none of these self opinionated politicians can just use one drop of common sense. The debate about drilling offshore, in Alaska, and obtaining oil from the shell here in the U.S. just continues to get stalled and nothing started. You here the politicians say how will it help our supply or even cause a significant dip in the price of gas now, it will take 10 years to get any of the supply if we start using those resources. I have seen estimates that state we could be self reliant 100% for 20-30 years. I imagine the only reason that it would take 10 years to start using these supplies is mostly because of legal and governmental roadblocks that if the government really wanted to bypass could make it happen. If someone is leasing land and doesn't start drilling in 3 months let another bidder come in that is gonna start drilling. That is a major problem is that companies are able to gain a lease and hold it without drilling for years. The government could also close the gap on this preported 10 year wait by going ahead and opening up the oil reserves we already have until the new oil supplies can be utilized. Another thing we should be doing but aren't is that if we are going to stay in Iraq and stabilize their government and country we should not even be needing OPEC oil while we are over there. Back to the 20-30 years self-reliant timeframe. I mean not to be daft but shouldn't that be plenty of time with todays technology to probably not even need crude fuel supplies. I mean personally I think the technology is probably already available but just being blocked by politicians because of there lined pockets from the dirty lobbyists. In a way I guess as a whole citizens should blame themselves because for years we have just let the lobby system continue. If we want to solve our energy issues it is going to take more than technology advancements alone. It is going to take the U.S. Public to take a stand and stop allowing the lobby system to continue. The only parties benefiting from this system is big business and the politicians, getting fatter and fatter at the expense of the general public. Citizens quit being led around like cattle willing to except being left out to pay the price for an elite few.

The story of Thomas Beattie aka The First Pregnant Man has really been overblown. This is very deceptive at first the way ABC and other media literature first portrays this case. Congratulations to the Beaties but there is nothing spectacular about this case. Thomas is a female to male trangendered man now he still has his female reprodcutive organs. His pregnancy really is no different than any non-transgendered females pregnancy. I have no problems or issues with this type of family having a child or this type of person giving birth to a child but lets quit making a big deal out of nothing. It is not a miracle of science or nature and I feel like the media is mislabeling the case to rope people in. I actually feel sorry for this family that they would allow the media to use them in this way. Media Empire, come back to me when you have an actual non-reassigned pregnant male that has never had female reproductive organs and has undergone some succesfull form of artificial pregnancy that takes and subsequently the result is a healthy birth.
